个人自述

我的成长受父亲影响更多。他对我既纵容又苛刻。是他培养了我自理、自立、自强的能力与性格，让我懂得只有做到生活自理，才能达到人格自立、精神自强；只有自立自强，才能赢得尊严和权力。

三岁的时候，父亲借出差的机会，第一次带我来到了北京。我在游乐场疯玩了三天，临走，我说：“北京多好，我不回家！”父亲说：“游乐场好玩，那是有能力的人管理、策划出来的。爸妈没能力把家搬到北京来，让你天天玩游乐场，想玩，得靠你自己！”当时，我不太明白，但我知道，北京有游乐场，我要来北京！

上小学了，放学后第一件事就是把作业写完，睡觉前最后一件事是把第二天要穿的衣服、要带的书收拾好。因为我知道，迟到、没完成作业要被老师惩罚；书本忘带了，爸妈不会给我送；他们也从不替我检查作业，只问我：“写完了？会了？”然后就给我签字。我有很强的自我约束力，我自立，因为我明白我得对自己负责。

Personal Statement

I grew up basically under the influence of my father who treated me indulgently and strictly. He told me to do everything on my own. I learnt from him that only self reliance leads to self independence and self-worth and only self independence carries with dignity and power.

I was for the first time brought by father to Beijing on his business trip when I was three years old. I had a great and crazy time for 3 days in an amusement park. When we were about to leave, I said: “Beijing is so splendid. I don’t wanna go back home.” Father said to me: “There is full of fun because people of abilities manage and plan out the park. Daddy and mommy are not able to move to Beijing for you to play here every day. You need make it by yourself.” Though I didn’t fully understand then, I only know that I desire to go to Beijing where there is amusement park.

During the primary school, the first thing I did after school was always to finish the homework and the last thing before sleep was to get ready the clothes to wear and the books to take on the next day, because there would be punishments if I went school late or with homework not done yet; my parents would not bring to me the books I leave at home; my parents would not check my homework for me but only asked me “have you done your homework? Do you understand it?” and then put on their signatures. I cultivated strong self-discipline from then on for I knew I had to answer for myself.
